Bury College University Centre is proud to work alongside a Themed Industrial Advisory Panel.

This board is made up of industry professionals who are experts in their fields and has been created to ensure that our links with employers remain strong and effective.

As well as enhancing the student learning experience, the Themed Industrial Advisory Panel also ensures that all our programmes continue to reflect current developments and skills that are required within industry.

Each of our Themed Industrial Advisory Panels aims to achieve the following:

  • Promote closer academic and industry collaboration that enables students to engage in real world learning experiences and enhance employability prospects

  • Ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and continues to meet the needs of the industry sectors

  • Identify new trends and innovations which need to be reflected in existing and new courses

  • Provide independent external employer and professional perspectives on curriculum structure and module content

  • Participate in regular industry liaison events including guest lectures, presentations, masterclasses and work experience opportunities

Membership of the Industrial Advisory Panels

Membership of the panels will consist of the senior representatives from the relevant industry from both the public and private sector, the University Centre’s academic staff and management team.

Frequency of meetings

Each panel will meet formally twice each academic year to review performance against the identified strategic objectives. Industry liaison events including guest lectures, presentations, masterclasses, curriculum development sessions and work experience opportunities will be organised throughout the academic year.
