With over ten years of industry experience, working professionally in marketing, PR, advertising and broadcast roles, Lokesh endeavours to pass his award-winning experience onto students. Graduating with a BA (Hons) in Broadcast Journalism, Lokesh went on to study research methods (PG Certificate in Social Scientific Research Methods), specialising in audience research, which led him to work both client and agency-side in marketing communications and PR positions for six years. Undertaking further study in digital media production (PG Diploma in Media Production) and work as a journalist, Lokesh was fast-tracked into television production (Creative England), working for some of the UK’s top independent production companies and the BBC on a variety of productions, including award-winning documentaries (Royal Television Society & Prix Europa).
Lokesh continued to further his research interest in documentary film and social scientific theory (MA Media & Cultural Studies and MA Social Sciences) before moving into full-time lecturing in 2010. Lokesh has continued his various research interests including an innovative study for HEFCE into Enhancing Study Skills for H.E. learners. After completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership, these findings are now informing a doctoral research project that will support the information literacy skills of all learners.
